Fear the Deer

This is far greater than anything the Raptor mascot has ever done!

From the Diamond: Week III

“HalladayInn Checks Out With a Win”

The closest matchup of the week – HalladayInn beat out Mo Manny Mo Problems 6-5-1.  The difference, 0.08 team batting average and 1 extra base hit which could have made the score lop sided in favor of HalladayInn.  Some unlikely heroism from Kurt Suzuki who was called out by GM last week.  Both teams pitched formidably but M.M.M.P had a ridiculous pitching line, collecting a combined 0.79 ERA and 0.79 WHIP.  No love from the pitchers hitters on those teams as only 1 win was collected from those stellar performances.

MVP (H.I.): K. Suzuki – 3 Runs, 3 HRs, 7 RBIs, .429AVG, .500OBP, 3XBH

LVP (H.I.): Y. Escobar – 0 runs, 0 RBIs, .063 AVG, .211OBP

MVP (M.M.M.P): J.Sanchez – 10k, 1.29ERA, 0.57WHIP

LVP (M.M.M.P): A.Cabrerra – 2 Runs, .292 AVG, .292 OBP

“Team Sluggers Live Up to Name”

Team Sluggers finally won a matchup moving them into “Baltimore Orioles” reputation status.  Adrian Gonzalez led the way with 4 Home Runs in the week, as much as The Wooly Sox’s team combined. Could this be the start of a winning streak?  Probably not.  Only because I feel the players on the team are so thrilled about winning they’ll celebrate too much and be unable to perform while they nurse their hangovers.

MVP (TS): J.Danks – 2 wins, 14k, 1.69ERA, 0.69 WHIP

LVP (TS): A. Ramirez – 1 Run, 1 RBI, 0.80 AVG, .115OBP

MVP (WS): R. Cano – 7 Runs, 1HR, 4RBIs, 1SB, .429AVG, .538OBP, 2XBH

LVP (WS): J. Kubel – 2 Runs, 0.53AVG, .250OBP

“Throws Like A Girl Won’t Forget That Close Week”

Remember The Alomar narrowly eked out a win last week over the Titan(ess) of Fantasy Baseball – Throws Like A Girl.  The match was close (.02 difference in WHIP, 1SB, 1 Run, 2HR and tied in wins).  Both teams had sub par pitching so it came down to the bats.  R.T.A has already caught the injury bug which would mean another week of waiver players holding down the fort.

MVP (R.T.A.): F. Rodriguez – 3 saves, 7k, 0.00ERA, 0.86 WHIP

LVP (R.T.A.): All the players on the DL (though Zimmerman’s 2RBIs isn’t too great either)

MVP (TLG): M. Reynolds – 5 runs, 3 HRs, 11RBIs, .421AVG, .500OBP, 5XBH

Riding Out a Rain Delay

University of Kentucky Baseball team  needed to pass some time during a rain delay, so they decided to a little entertaining for the fans.  This included a roller coaster ride, dance off and a wrestling match.  Check it out.

Joe Cowley…Moron

I’m sure you’ve all read the articles on Joe Cowley and his ridiculous article slamming the Blue Jays attendance numbers.  If you haven’t, here is the article.  This guy is a douche and I’m sure will get his faced punched in the next time he goes through customs.

“Anything to declare Mr. Cowley?”

“Yeah,  Did Justin Bieber sign with the Jays, maybe then they’ll get some fans”

“Right this way sir, you’ve been selected for a random cavity search…”

And this comes just months after a writer in Texas claimed that Canadians were Nazis because they promoted the Maple Leaf everywhere during the Olympics IN CANADA!” Here is that article.

From the Diamond: Week II

Attendance is down at the Rogers Centre.  I guess that means no more Blue Jays according to most papers.  It’s interesting to note that people are saying Toronto is a hockey town and that’s why no one comes to see the Jays.

I agree with the fact that it’s a hockey town but when a team goes 17 seasons without a competitive record the fans are going to get upset and become less interested.  Even the Leafs were in a playoff hunt 2 seasons ago.

Well I’m happy to say attendance at this website is almost as high as the attendance at Jays games – 10,000 per day…oh wait, that says 10 per day, my mistake.  Here’s my half of the recap from Week 2 in the 3rd Base Lovers’ league.  The theme – Comeback Week Read more »
